The attic of the sorority house is a musty, dusty maze of piled-up cardboard boxes and stacks of outdated textbooks that obstruct your view past a few feet in any direction, leaving you to wonder what might be waiting for you around the next corner of the cramped pathways. What few windows there are are blocked and occluded by boxes and discarded furniture, creating a dark and shadowy gloom that makes the tangles of fake nylon cobwebs strewn everywhere look almost realistic.

*''If the boombox is off:''
You detect a muffled murmuring sound just on the edge of your hearing, and trace it to a boombox that someone has plugged in and left playing a cassette labeled "Spooky Halloween Noises Vol. III". For whatever reason, though, the volume has been turned down too far for it to be very atmospheric.

*''If the boombox is on:''
An occasional ghastly wail and clanking of chains sets your heart pounding and pulse racing. You trace the noises to a boombox playing a cassette labeled "Spooky Halloween Noises Vol. III" and breathe a sigh of relief... until the tape emits another bloodcurdling shriek that causes you to nearly jump out of your skin. 

Poking around a little more, you find an antiquated mimeograph machine that appears to have been used recently -- a stack of pages sitting on top of it is still giving off the nostalgic smell of fresh purple ink. Nearby there's a pile of dusty broken appliances and run-down vacuum cleaners -- you start to investigate it more closely, but are interrupted by a series of loud banging noises coming from the other side of the attic.

You grab a few purple-inked pages and breathe deeply of the nostalgic grade-school scent for a minute before actually looking at the printing. It looks like they're instructional pages for the girls managing and acting in the haunted house.

You crank up the volume on the boombox, and it emits a ghastly blood-curdling shriek, followed by the howling of a wolf and the sound of chains clanking. A shiver runs down your spine, despite being well aware that it's just a cheesy sound-effects tape.

You give the volume knob on the boombox a firm counterclockwise twist, and the terrible noises subside to a muffled whisper. Whew.

You push your way through the twisty maze of cardboard boxes, and turn a corner just in time for another deafening ''BANG'' to set your ears ringing. You cautiously peer over a stack of remedial mathematics textbooks, and see a fratboy being menaced by a cheerleading-squad's worth of werewolves.

"Get back!" he shouts, as he frantically reloads a shotgun. "I told you, I'm not into 'all-natural' chicks!" He fires his shotgun again, and the pellets knock one of the slavering wolfgirls back a few feet, but cause no real damage. As the werewolves pounce on the guy and tear him to shreds, he screams "Get a Brazilian, yo! Aaaaaaiiieeeee!"

You quietly sneak away before the sorority girls notice you.

"Get back!" he shouts, as he frantically reloads a shotgun. "I told you, I'm not into 'all-natural' chicks!" He fires his shotgun again, and the pellets knock one of the slavering wolfgirls back a few feet, but cause no real damage.

"Here!" you shout, throwing him your silver shotgun shell. "Try this!"

"Thanks, bra!" he shouts back as grabs the shell out of the air and slams it into the chamber, then pulls the trigger. ''BOOM!!'' The silver pellets tear through the sorority werewolves, ripping them apart like blood-filled teddy-bears. "Shoulda shaved those pits, ladies," the fratboy sneers, as he re-pops his collar.

You push your way through the stacks of cardboard boxes, and eventually discover the banging noise to be a loose shutter on one of the attic's exterior windows, blowing in the wind and slamming against the side of the house. You heave a sigh of relief.
