It sounds like this has switched from just being a description, to additionally being a Blessed Spellbook of Identify. Getting it identifies all unknown Greater-Than objects.

Using the plus sign doesn't identify stuff in your display case (whew!), but I forgot to try sticking something in my closet. --{{User:Club/sig}} 18:43, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Just to note: the identification seems to be random. I fought only a [[swarm of lowercase As]] who dropped a [[percent sign]], and when I used the plus sign, it identified the % as a [[mind flayer corpse]], not as the [[royal jelly]] you'd expect from As. I couldn't think of a concise but complete way to state that on the main page, but at least it's here if someone has a question and looks. --[[User:Terion|Terion]] 01:59, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Using the [[plus sign]] causes a one-time conversion of inventory items only.  Items in a display case or closet are unaffected and will not be converted when subsequently moved back to inventory.  --[[User:AtlanteanScion|AtlanteanScion]] 02:07, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

::I don't see it as bug. Since unidentified Dungeons of Doom items in a players dc aren't affected as well, it's not entirely unforeseeable behavior. As for the impact on the game: Moving items into your Colossal Closet isn't something that happens on its own - it's an active act. While it's possible that a player might regret doing so later on, it won't make ascending impossible or delay his ascension for more than like 20 adventures at most.
