On first visit:
A spectacled man sits behind the desk. He wears a short-sleeved button-down shirt and a nametag that reads "Jeremy Science." He is simultaneously filling out two forms, one with each hand.
"Hello," you say, "I was just wonde--"
"No time for exposition." he interrupts. "If you want to help, get suited up and dive in."
"Er. Suited up?"
"Grab a harness from the armory. Oh, and you'll need some juice. I'll tell them to let you into the cafeteria as well."
"Okay. I guess I'll... go?"
Jeremy does not respond.
With a drippy snail shell:
You show Jeremy the big snail shell you found.
"Wow," he says, "would you look at that? I bet the gals in the Armory could learn a thing or two from this. I'll send it their way. You keep up the good work!"
(Unlocks the drippy shield)
Subsequently, with The Fingernail of the Thing in the Basement:
"Oooh, that big fingernail, that's interesting. I'll send it up to the Armory right away. In the meantime, our scouts have cleared the way to another section of the Drip. There's some kind of big building there. Go check it out, would you?"
Subsequently, if you have nothing interesting:
Jeremy Science seems pretty busy. You probably shouldn't bother him unless you have something important to show him.
