When Used

You open the envelope. Inside is a letter. Dear $playername: Thank you ever so much for rescuing me from that dreadful prism. Please accept these goodies as a token of my appreciation. The weather is very nice. I wish you were here. -XOXO, King Ralph XI The letter is a bit confusing. You've only just arrived in this Kingdom, and the whole reason you came is because you found out that the King is trapped, and they need somebody to rescue him. You also wonder what goodies he's talking about, when some stuff suddenly materializes at your feet. Ah. These goodies.

Notes

• Opening (using) the letter gives you your ascension rewards as detailed above.
• Before the Valhalla revamp on May 16, 2011, the letter also contained any consumables or equipment earned in the previous run. They now drop from the Naughty Sorceress during the run that you earned them on.
• Between August 22, 2006 and January 1, 2022, the letter contained a disassembled clover instead of a big rock (except in Bad Moon).
• The message received in the letter implies that players are stuck in an "time-loop", as noted from other kingdom-timeline wonkiness.
