tomb bat You're fighting a tomb bat

Have you ever seen a mummified bat? No? Well, then you've never seen one of these. It's from a flock of bats that's been living in this pyramid for a long time. So long, in fact, that they've learned to imitate the other creatures here by mummifying each other. They've missed the point a little bit, in that they perform the mummification before the subject shuffles off its furry, black little mortal coil, but the overall effect still earns them a lot of points, if for no other reason than the extreme creepiness.

Long story short -- you're being attacked by a big mummy bat.

Hit Message(s):

It buffets you with its leathery wings. Your <shins> gets buffeted against your <shins>, which hurts a lot. Ooh! Ugh! Ouch! Oof! Argh!

It scratches your <shins> with a dusty claw. Let's hope you don't get bat scratch fever. Ooh! Argh! Ugh! Argh! Oof!

It tries to bite you on the <shins>, but its mouth is covered with bandages, so it has to headbutt you, instead. Ooh! Ow! Ugh! Eek! Ooh!

It flies over you and drops something disgusting on your head. Guano? Guayes. Ooh! Ouch! Ow! Ow!

Critical Hit Message:

It lets loose a piercing squeak, like Mariah Carey stepping on a dolphin. It reverberates and echoes through the tomb until your eyes pop out and your ears bleed. Ouch! Ow! Argh! Ow! Argh! Ouch!

Miss Message(s):

It tries to buffet you with its leathery wings, but you jimmy open a sarcophagus and hide inside until the buffeting's done.

It tries to scratch you, but its dusty brittle claws just break off against your <shins>

It tries to bite you on the <shins>, but can't because its mouth is covered with bandages.

It tries to do a guano bombing run, but the bandages act like a diaper.

Fumble Message:

As it swoops toward you, a loose bit of bandage gets caught on a nearby urn, and as it unravels, the bat falls out of the air in a whirling, dusty mess. (FUMBLE!)
