Trepanation

You look in a nearby tent and find a hobo who has, surprisingly, found an old barber chair somewhere, and set it up next to a small table with some scissors and assorted tools in a jar of that blue liquid that barbers keep their tools in. What is that stuff, anyway?

"Come in!" says the hobo cheerfully, dusting off the chair.

"Well," you muse, "I guess I could use a little off the top."

"Naturally!" says the hobo as you sit down. "Who couldn't?" He tucks a sheet around your neck and then, oddly, begins strapping you into the chair with leather belts.

"Er..." you say. "Is that really necessary for a haircut?"

"Haircut? No no no." He pulls a large chisel out of the jar and dries it off. "I'm going to cut a hole in your skull to let the demons out."

"Say what? Okay, no, that's quite all right, I'm quite happy to let the demons stay in there..."

"Nonsense! Just imagine how much better you'll feel when it's all over!"

"You mean when you're not actually in the process of knocking a hole in my skull with a chisel? Yes, I imagine that would feel better!"

"Exactly! Now please stop jerking your head around like that, wouldn't want to nick your ear or anything..."

"Aaargh!"

A short while later, you stumble out of the tent with fresh bandages on your head and the uncomfortable sensation that you haven't got as much on your mind as you did when you went in. Literally. Ba-dum-bum-pssht.

You acquire an effect: Trepandation
(duration: 20 Adventures)

Notes
