"Skin, then meat," you say. "What's next, Frank?"
"Do you really need to ask, Chief?"
Hit Message(s):
The hipbone's connected to the legbone, the legbone's connected to the footbone, and the footbone just kicked you in the <shoulder>. Ouch! Ugh! Argh!
A pile of bones falls off of the wall, burying you. Ugh! Ooh! Argh!
A clavicle comes whirling out of the wall, hitting you on the <shoulder>. Oof! Ugh! Eek!
A big femur flies off of the wall and hits you in the <shoulder>. Argh! Ouch! Argh!
A big femur flies off of the wall and hits you in the <shoulder>. Oof! Ouch! Ouch!
- On loss (without electric boning knife):
"That's not even a thing, Frank," you reply, spitting out teeth.
"Sure it is. I bet one of those giants has one. They love kitchen gadgets, those guys."- On loss (with electric boning knife):
Occurs at The Naughty Sorceress' Tower.
Notes
- This monster counts as a group (of size 100). It takes manifold damage from area-of-effect skills such as Wave of Sauce.
- Only group damage skills will deal lasting damage to it, while all other skills cause it to fully heal.
- The bones of the wall reconfigure themselves to patch up the hole you just made. Crap.
- Never misses.
- Cannot be stunned or staggered.
- Deals increasing damage each combat round.
- On each attack the wall will deal damage equal to ceiling( MaxHP * (0.1 + 0.2 * number of previous attacks) ) which is unaffected by Damage Absorption, Damage Reduction or Elemental Resistance.
- Its first attack will deal 10% of your Max HP rounded up, the second will deal 30%, the third will deal 50% and the fourth will deal 70%.
- Effects (such as the Star Starfish attack) which are supposed to give you MP instead reduce your MP, though Starfish-like familiars should be avoided for this fight because they will cause the Wall to heal.
Strategy
- The easiest way to defeat the Wall of bones is to use an electric boning knife, found in the Foodie Giant's room in The Castle in the Clouds in the Sky (Ground Floor). Note that this adventure is rarer than the other noncombats unless you have defeated the Wall of meat, in which case it appears much more frequently [1].
- In order to defeat the Wall through brute force, 20,000 damage must be dealt within 4-5 turns. Group damage attacks are the obvious choice:
- Saucegeyser is probably the easiest viable skill to acquire, but its group multiplier is only 3. One-shotting the wall will require a lot of bonus Mysticality and Spell Damage -- particularly the latter, as with no Bonus Spell Damage, you'll need about 16 thousand buffed Mysticality to guarantee one-shotting the wall.
- Firegate and Garbage Nova have uncapped multipliers, and can be purchased in the Mall as long as you're not currently in Hardcore. Without any Bonus Spell Damage, Firegate is guaranteed to one-shot the wall at (360 + wall's Defense) Mysticality, and Garbage Nova at 888.
- If you don't want a spell that runs off your Mysticality, Splattersmash will use your Muscle instead, though it's rather more complex to acquire. You'll need (770 + wall's Defense) buffed Muscle to guarantee a one-shot kill.
- Fire Rocket runs off your Moxie, but it requires equipping a specific weapon which is clan boss loot and therefore entirely unavailable in Hardcore, and is limited to one cast per combat anyway. If this is really your preferred strategy, 1000 buffed Moxie is enough to guarantee a one-shot kill.
- If you can't reach the buffed stat levels mentioned above, keep in mind that they are only necessary to guarantee a one-shot kill. Slightly lower stats will still have a chance to one-shot, and even if you don't one-shot it, you do have a few rounds before it kills you to deal more damage.
- Alternatively, a single big hit of 20,000 damage even from a non-group attack (such as a sufficiently strong Unleash the Greash), will also defeat it. This can be mitigated by weakening it by using a few group damage attacks before using the single-target attack.
- Despite generally being immune to Stunning, attacks from the wall can be avoided with some skills. Known skills that can successfully avoid damage from the wall are:
- Shell Up, Sauceshell, Silent Slice, Silent Slam, and Silent Squirt. Unfortunately, they will cause the Wall of bones to fully heal.
