bounty-hunting helmet
This helmet has a special visor that makes it easier to see what monsters are carrying. The principles by which it works are too complicated to discuss here, but are undoubtedly either totally scientifically sound, or outrageously improbable, depending on who you ask.
The periscope is purely decorative.
