A Smoldering Fortress appeared in The Nearby Plains on the tenth day (June 23, 2012) of the Brushfires world event.

The castle contains the following locations:

The entrance contains brick-like monsters which are weak to Cold Damage and drop molten bricks, which can be pasted with drops of water-37 to create hot daubs. You do not receive commendations for killing them.

The belfry replaces the Fierce Flying Flames and contains blazing bats, which award commendations when killed.

The Big Room on Top contains Lord Flameface.
