References

  • The skill "Disco Fever" may be a reference to the 1978 film Disco Fever, which is appropriate for a Disco Bandit.
  • The description refers to the '80s ad campaign for Pringles, whose slogan was "I've got the fever for the flavor of a Pringle."
  • It may also be a reference to the song Zombie Me by No More Kings, which has the line "I got the fever for the flavour of a human brain", with which it would also rhyme
  • The former message was a reference to "The Gunslinger's Catechism" from Stephen King's Dark Tower series:
I do not aim with my hand.
He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my Eye.
I do not shoot with my hand.
He who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my Mind.
I do not kill with my hand.
He who kills with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my Heart.

History

  • On May 24, 2006, the description of this skill was changed from "This skill makes you significantly less likely to miss when firing a crossbow."
  • Until then, when a player was attacking with a crossbow and had this skill, the following message was given:
"You do not aim with your hand. He who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of Sneaky Pete. You aim with your Moxie."
  • On March 18, 2008, the skill was renamed from "Crossbow Fever" to "Disco Fever" and was applied to all ranged weapons. Previously, the bonus had applied only to crossbows.
