- The name of the adventure references both a line spoken by various Looney Tunes characters ("You ever get the feelin'... that you're bein' watched?") and the heightened sense of paranoia often experienced by those under the influence of certain drugs.
- The first damage message refers to the They Might Be Giants song "Fingertips", which contains the lyrics "Fingertips / Fingertips / Fingertips" and "I walk along darkened corridors".
- The first miss message refers to the M*A*S*H character "Hawkeye" Pierce.
- "And instead of being on the prize, as eyes usually are" is a reference to the saying "Keep your eyes on the prize."
