• This item gives your familiar the ability to blow smoke in your face at the start of combat, granting 5 turns (6 if you count the one you get the effect in) of one random effect out of most non-detrimental effects in the game.
• This item can bring you above the 3 AT buff limit. If you are above the buff limit and unequip your Hat, Pants, or Accessories, the extra buffs are removed just as if you removed an equipment that granted extra songs.
• This item can give you mutually exclusive effects like the Pressurized potions, and can also give ordinarily class-specific effects, such as Frozen Shoulders.
• The Hookah will not grant Half-Astral, Absinthe-Minded, Form of...Cockroach!, Shape of...Mole!, Form of...Bird!, Stabilizing Oiliness, Slippery Oiliness, or Expert Oiliness.
• Gives one effect at the start of every 6th combat encounter for which the Hookah is equipped. By using free runaways and/or extending buff durations, you are able to stack multiple buffs from the Hookah.

• In the novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Alice stumbles upon a hookah-smoking caterpillar. As most caterpillars are rather small (this particular one being exactly three inches high, which is a very good height indeed), they need tiny hookahs accordingly.
