Notes

References

  • The name of this trophy is a play on a famous line, "Let my people go", repeated through chapters 5-10 of the book of Exodus. The line was used in the African-American spiritual song, Go Down, Moses, one of many such songs popularized on the concert stage by Paul Robeson: also quoted in the 1956 movie, The Ten Commandments in which Charlton Heston, as Moses, speaks this line to Pharaoh.
  • The filename of the image, "you_damned_dirty_human.gif", is a reference to another Charlton Heston movie. He spoke the infamous line "Get your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape!", in the 1968 movie Planet of the Apes. The line is echoed in the third movie, Escape from Planet of the Apes, and in the 2001 Planet of the Apes remake, in which ape characters yell at human characters, "Get your hands off me, you damned dirty human!"
