Pot-Unlucky

While exploring the Hidden City, you discover a strange contraption like a noose made out of vines lying on the ground. You discover this just after you put your foot in it, and just before you find yourself hanging upside-down from a tree.

Some pygmies cut you down, but before you can thank them they've put you in a cauldron of boiling oil and are dancing around whooping and shouting. One of them is holding up a pot of batter and grunting at you. It seems that he wants you to pour it on yourself.

"Seriously guys," you say, "You don't want to be eating me. I'm full of trans fats. And um, preservatives."

They don't take much notice. They just keep whooping and hollering and dancing. One of them appears to be preparing some kind of dipping sauce.

"All right then, fine." You hold up your arm, and give it a lick all the way from your elbow to your hand. The drumming stops and the pygmies stare at you.

"Yeah, that's right. Don't look so tasty now, do I?" You lick your other arm. "Still wanna eat me? It's okay, I don't mind."

The pygmies leave, muttering in disgust.

• The title of this adventure refers to potluck, a sort of get-together in which each guest brings a dish to the meal. Of course, in this adventure, the guest is the dish.
