When first planted, and after ascension, there are seven batteries (AAA) ready to pick. At rollover, new batteries (AAA) are grown in empty pods, and unpicked batteries increase to the next size.
Each battery can be manually increased to the next size by meatpasting it with a battery (AAA). As such, you can get the same total quantity and size batteries by picking every day, or by letting them grow, so long as you are willing to meatpaste and untinker the batteries yourself.
