- The description could reference any number of mental illnesses that have become a hotbed of debate in Internet circles. The two warring camps are typically people who have diagnosed themselves with the disease based purely on reading a description of it, and people who deny that the disease exists at all. Some good examples of conditions that have been heavily debated on the internet are attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, Asperger syndrome, and synesthesia (not an illness per se).
