The Old Duke's Estate
The Old Duke's Estate

You are in front of a massive mansion whose grounds stretch for miles in every direction. A plaque on the front door reads "On this date, 50 years ago, the Old Duke was a real jerk."

Must've been a popular guy.

Check out the family plot
You whistle as you creep into the little graveyard.

If you've already visited any portion of The Old Duke's Estate in this instance:

The undergrowth surrounding the cemetery springs to life as you approach, wraps you up in its creeping creepers, and hurls you back to the front gate.

Investigate the servant's quarters
You duck through the door into the servants' quarters.

  • Turn off the ovens: Removes hot monsters from the zone.
  • Make a shepherd's pie: Myst class only. Makes Dreadsylvanian shepherd's pie if you have all four ingredients.
  • Look through the cabinets: Gain X moxie substats.
  • Take off: Return to previous selection (Does not use an Adventure)

If you've already visited any portion of The Old Duke's Estate in this instance:

The door to the servants' quarters doesn't budge. It looks like you're not welcome around here anymore.

Make your way to the master suite

If the master suite has not been unlocked yet, and you have no key:

You make your way to the Duke's bedroom door, but it's locked. Guess you're gonna need one of those keys from the Terrified Eagle if you want to get in here. (Stays in this adventure)

With a Dreadsylvanian skeleton key:

You find the door to the old Duke's master bedroom and unlock it with your skeleton key.

  • Blow the whistle: Fewer werewolves will appear in the Dreadsylvanian Woods.
  • Check the nightstand: Gain eau de mort.
  • Mess with the loom: ???
  • Leave the suite: Return to previous selection (Does not use an Adventure)

If you've already visited any portion of The Old Duke's Estate in this instance:

The front door does not yield to your normally expert door-opening skills. Looks like the mansion doesn't want anything else to do with you.

Use a ghost pencil

(This option only appears with a ghost pencil in inventory)

Duck out
You head off in search of a newer Duke.

Occurs at Dreadsylvanian Village.
