References

  • The head resembles Casey Kasem, whose radio shows often featured Long-distance dedications and top ten lists. This may also be the cause for the naming of the Kasem Nebula.
  • The quote "This is ponderous, man. Freaking ponderous" references the Negativland song U2: Special Edition Remix, which features Casey Kasem saying those very words. Similarly, the line about being from England and not giving a crap comes from the same song, taken from an outtake from Casey Kasem's show where he exclaimed about U2, "These guys are from England, and who gives a sh*t?". It's not censored in the song or the outtake.
  • The line: You don't know what its name is, but since there aren't any monsters with it, it's probably not "Todd." references the name of Colorado rock band, Big Head Todd and the Monsters.
