So, it's a hobo for food? - LSK
Obviously, there are many ghostbusters references, including the picture - ThisisCarl
This reference: "This familiar also references Green Glutton Ghosts, which are a fixture of any number of roguelike computer games." seems a bit bogus. The roguelike games do have those, but they are clearly Ghostbuster references. KoL isn't referencing the roguelikes, it is going to the original. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 14:03, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Feeding
From just a very small amount of testing, it seems keeping the ghost fed requires a lot... I fed it a goat cheese pizza, 5 hot wings, a ghuol egg, 2 chocolate egg fragments and got 4 or 5 adventures of "fed". Before them, i fed it toast and a Spam Witch sammich which gave me the normal "needs food" messages in combat.--Casie 00:06, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
Is it possible that the feeding amount depends on fullness, rather than quality? That would explain the high amount of food you needed- almost everything you fed him was 1 fullness. Try feeding him a mind flayer corpse.--DaemonStryker 00:23, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
- Actually I forgot to list it, I fed him 2 mind flayer corpses in that long list of stuff above... --Casie 21:57, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
Someone should feed it a Three-tiered wedding cake. --The KoW 01:02, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
- You can't feed it a 3-tiered cake. --sl1me 01:10, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
- This seems pretty fair, considering. If this thing works anything like the Spirit Hobo, then fullness of an item determines how many starfish attacks it gets. A readily available 35 fullness item would be pretty broken with that.
Hm... wonder if they're gonna do a spleen version next year ;) --Wildfire393 01:16, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
(Speculation about diff message removed and added to main page; it's just a message that hadn't been added to main page. And yes, the reference below is the namesake of my ghost ^_^) --Laerjael 01:58, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
kobayashi is the japanese guy that always won nathan's hot dog eating contest up until this year. he's probably the most famous competitive eater in the world. --ValmonUni 02:02, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
Fullness lasts for # of actions instead of # of turns?
One Brimstone Chicken Sandwich seems to last for a varying # of turns, but I get 3 instances of getting MP for each Brimstone Chicken Sandwich, then the ghost is hungry again. If I get those 3 MP loads in one turn, then I get a 'hungry' message. If it takes 3 turns to get 3 MP loads, then the GGG fullness seems to last that long. Two Brimstone Chicken Sandwiches last for 6 MP loads.
The 'dessert cart' and 'floating to trash can' messages appear to be inaction messages, indicating that the GGG didn't do anything. ColtsScore 04:00, 2 October 2007 (CDT)

I get a feeling that the number of MP shots is determined by a combination of fullness as well as quality? --Sephiroth559 06:40, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Certainly seems so, I specifically waited until after the friars to feed my ghost some reagent pasta. 2 Hell Ramen gave me 50 actions over the next 80 or so turns, the damage at 30 to 33 pounds buffed weight ranged from 12 to 30 with a random distribution, no sign of the damage dropping as fullness dropped. Perhaps actions are added in a similar fashion to adventures gained by eating the same food item? --Dannyboy 00:33, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
To add to notes at bottom of article if it changes
I'm getting my familiar's name on all the messages except one. It says .. "GGG floats over to a nearby trash can and rifles through it looking for food. Guess he's not picky". My GGG isn't named "GGG". If they change it, I guess we should add that to the special notes. ColtsScore 04:25, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
I've found out that you cannot feed it an orange. Any speculations on why this is? --Garglius 05:39, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
I found there isn't a feed-to-ghost option for maple syrup, which isn't NPC available. Perhaps it's because maple syrup restores HP/MP? Also, I got the same "GGG floats over to a nearby trash can..." message as above. -- Octopodey 07:40, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
- If that's so, I bet it's a bug due to maple syrup having a "chug" link rather than "eat" or "drink".--Toper 16:08, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
Taken along with the refusal to eat three-tiered wedding cake, and having heard from the forum that the thing will eat 150 mindflayer corpses, I'm guessing it has no fullness limit, but is instead limited by simply refusing to eat anything that can be purchased from an NPC. --ShaggyShaggs 06:09, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
Using remote form submission to have the ghost attempt to eat an NPC item you have results in "<name> snubs his nose at your offering of a <item>." Does that belong in the article somewhere? --Ricket 17:03, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
has anyone tried using milk of mag. or munchies pills? ode works with the hobo. i assume milk will work the same --Jpg 420 11:36, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Possible plus food drops?
The combat messages when it's fed seem to indicate it can find food. If it's not fed where it will restore MP, it will give you different messages than the ones such as "digging through the garbage" or "He sees a desert tray". Perhaps when he's fed he also adds plus food drops?
Obviously, there are many ghostbusters references, including the picture - ThisisCarl
Food thief?
The message "<name> swoops through the air, catching a <food> in his mouth before it hits the ground. Before the <food> hits the ground, that is. Not his mouth." was recently added to the page, which sounds like the ghost may eat food at drop time, not at all unlike the O.A.F.'s tendency to autosell stuff. It would probably be wise to either put this guy away or thoroughly feed him before adventuring in the Goatlet... --Quietust (t|c) 10:37, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
Test runs in the DoD makes me believe that when he steals food, the chance that he will steal again decreases. Anyone confirm this? --Devion 11:10, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
If the ghost only steals food when not currently 'fed,' then future thefts would be less likely, simply because he may not be hungry yet. As an aside, if the food charge is stored similar to the hobo's, food theft might actually allow ghost emulators - comma chameleons and (eventually) doppelshifters - to charge up.--JoetheRat 14:10, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
Could you clarify "Charging up"? I have a chameleon, and am interested in what you have to say.
--Shademaster00 20:30, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
- The GGG & Spirit Hobo need to be fueled up with consumables (charged up) to do their starfish trick. Normally, you couldn't do that directly with a Hobo-chameleon or doppel-hobo - but they can use the charges if you had the actual familiar to feed. Self-feeding means that a simulated GGG could charge itself up.
I suppose the spade question here is if a simulated GGG will self-feed. --JoetheRat 13:23, 4 October 2007 (CDT)
Super Stench Attack
So far this has only happened to me once, but the adventure after getting the "belch" message, my GGG released a cloud of stench on a rampaging adding machine that did 173 damage at 12 lbs. This is an incredible amount of damage for such a low weight. My theory is that this only happens the turn immediately after filling the GGG up, but more spading would be nice. Unfortunately, I c/p the message when I got it. --Dante5454 18:58, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
In addendum: Raymond lets loose a tremendous, ghostly belch, emotionally scarring and grossing out your opponent for 160 damage. Albeit an incredibly small testing period, I'm fairly confidant about it doing that only immediately after becoming full. Also, it seems to happen in the first round of combat in which you fight.--Dante5454 19:03, 1 October 2007 (CDT)
A forum post lists a 29 pound GGG doing 338 stench damage, no elemental weakness.--Lostcalpolydude 12:16, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
While I don't know if it is a product of fullness or just a coincidence, but my GGG only appears to do the stench attack after I have fed it a few Insanely Spicy Burritos. The GGG was over-filled (I was misreading the attack messages), but I didn't get the stench attack when I fed it with a ton of random foods. I am a seal clubber and (due to the icy-peak farming) have fed it my extra insanely spicy bean burritos - not insanely spicy enchanted bean burritos. --Defendingjester 12:32, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Globius Faticus lets loose a tremendous, ghostly belch, emotionally scarring and grossing out your opponent for 1754 damage. Battle after i fed him 150 or so ballroom blintzes, next battle 732 damage. Next battle 302. Looks as if they can only hold a certain amount of food before letting it out.Wojo 14:34, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Slimer lets loose a tremendous, ghostly belch, emotionally scarring and grossing out your opponent for 1812 damage. I just kept feeding him around 150ish desiccated apricots. He didn't use the belch attack in the next battle, but did so after that for 625. --Devion 19:11, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Anyone had a chance to figure out if the ghost will use this attack against the Naughty Sorceress? Or any of the lesser bosses? --Flargen 19:58, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
Lesser bosses should work just fine. Ronin/hardcore getting enough fullness for it to happen might be hard to attain, Does the hobo retain blasts when the NS debuffs?----
- Yes the hobo retains blasts after the NS debuffs. Makes it a good familiar to fight her with.--Darkness 23:44, 2 October 2007 (CDT)

Priming
A new theory floating around is that the ghost has to be "primed" or "built-up" for full output of food, either once a day or once per ascension. For example, there is a threshold of "x" fullness, during which he outputs by the formula "(no. of shots = fullness of food)". After "x" is surpassed through feeding, he starts to output by "(no. of shots = advs from food)". I'm not sure of the validity of this theory but it is certainly an interesting idea. --Sephiroth559 21:05, 3 October 2007 (CDT)
Spading Needed
1. Finding out if turns of MP regen are based on fullness, quality or both.
2. Determining the exact formula for MP regen based on weight, and if it really is the same as the hobo, reposting it here.
3. Determining formula for damage of stench attack, and whether based on quality or fullness or both.
• -From what I learned , it seemed to use the belch in the first two rounds of combat (in the first, or in the second, never twice in a row), and it's total damage halving itself from belch to belch, losing about a 10% of the previous damage before belching, as it used a MP-regen attack the round after a belch. Still needs extra confirmation.--KydrouKair, The Pastamancer 02:51, 5 October 2007 (CDT)
4. Determining the percentages of food stealing, and if the resulting increase in fullness of GGG is exactly what it would be if fed to him normally.
5. (And one I added) If chance of MP regen decreases with less fullness of GGG.--Dante5454 16:05, 2 October 2007 (CDT)
• -I already did some investigation and my GGG used the MP regen attack with the same chances, despite the fact that it was the last turn of GGG's Fullness (3 or 4 attacks in 10 rounds of combat). Still needs extra confirmation.--KydrouKair, The Pastamancer 02:51, 5 October 2007 (CDT)
6. What the dessert cart and garbage rifling messages actually indicate. In my experience, the loudly growling stomach message always means that he will be hungry next combat if you don't feed in-between, but the other two messages were often obtained in the middle of shots. I'd like to know if they indicate some hidden action.--Silly-na 18:12, 4 October 2007 (CDT)
