**As of right now, my guess is that there are a finite number of islands in the sea, and each one will only produce a Tiki for the first person to find it (sort of like the Observatory mechanic). With the X value of the Tiki being equal to the number of Tikis that have been found (like an inverse Imp mechanic). That way, since Jick & Co. would know exactly how many Tikis there are in advance, they could easily scale the final X score to non-insane levels. --Douglas Hossenfeffer 14:04, 6 December 2007 (CST) | **As of right now, my guess is that there are a finite number of islands in the sea, and each one will only produce a Tiki for the first person to find it (sort of like the Observatory mechanic). *** Bagatelle reported the item description as saying +2 hours before I found mine. As of right now, the item description still says +2. So I guess that would debunk that. --Phrim 14:31, 6 December 2007 (CST) | *** Bagatelle reported the item description as saying +2 hours before I found mine. You know, I can't help but think, given the way the entire island is dead, that something very, very sinister may happen when we get a LOT of them around... And you *know* people are going to be grabbing as many as they can just for the bragging rights.. --Terry 13:58, 6 December 2007 (CST) | You know, I can't help but think, given the way the entire island is dead, that something very, very sinister may happen when we get a LOT of them around... Shadowravyn has one in her store.
- Not anymore
I'm a level 8 SC, with 64/47/43 base stats. The enchantment said "+2 Moxie (and growing...)" for me at the following timestamp, with moons

Maybe an inverse imp mechanic? --CheezyBob 23:02, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- Or perhaps it depends on the actual time of day (i.e. how long since rollover)? --Quietust (t|c) 23:03, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- Maybe, basing this on the adventure text it works opposite of the ragamuffin imp, the more who have it the better it is, but the more people hunting it the less that are added to the game. --Chunky_boo 23:15, 5 December 2007 (CST)
Hmmmm. I didn't realize it right away, but the drop text was different. The "someone has been here recently" text may indicate that finding a tiki idol may be dependent on not visiting the island frequently. Testing with a multi gave this message on the first visit, so it may be a counter that carries over across different players. Maybe another attempt by TPTB at discouraging spoilers. - Shogun42 23:05, 5 December 2007 (CST)
