Looks like he's got DA too. With 921 (327) Muscle, I was doing ~560 per Vicious Talon Slash (expected lower bound 690), and am doing ~700 on normal hobos. With same stats, doing 661 damage using muscular divine favours + vivala mask. And those two numbers do not seem to resolve into non-contradictory resistance percent *scratches head*. --Bagatelle 20:12, 26 June 2008 (CDT) | Looks like he's got DA too. :I believe that Oscus, as well as all Hobopolis bosses, have the damage that can be done to them capped (apparently by level, excepting Frosty). I fought Oscus in cold form with my stats buffed up past 1500, and my dual-slung divines were doing no more than 700 damage each or thereabouts. --Flargen 20:34, 26 June 2008 (CDT) | :I believe that Oscus, as well as all Hobopolis bosses, have the damage that can be done to them capped (apparently by level, excepting Frosty). ::You can deal 500 damage to hobopolis bosses normally. As you deal more damage over this soft cap, the bosses start to develop damage absorption: if you try to deal 4000 damage, only 700 to 900 damage will actually go through. The actual amount of damage absorption that bosses develop as you deal more damage depends on a number of factors, and is still being spaded.-QuantumNightmare 12:37, 14 July 2008 (CDT) | |||

Substat Gain
it was a Myst stat day, and I was running +86 ML
(29 Beefiness, 50 Wizardliness, 77 Smarm)
so really, 40 Myst substat
and then -21.5 stats from ML
so 124 or 125 substat, I think. --MindlessGames 07:20, 19 June 2008 (CDT)
Hit Points
Oscus was alive after taking 6,014 damage, and I killed him with the next attack for 890, so he had less than 6,905 when I fought him. --Kirk Douglas 12:04, 25 June 2008 (CDT)
- I killed him after funkslining noisemakers that did 700 damage each over 5 rounds. Cap of 7000.--Toffile 16:07, 25 June 2008 (CDT)
- Actually now that I think about it, it gives a floor of 6500 as well, since funkslinging won't use the 2nd item if the 1st kills.--Toffile 18:51, 25 June 2008 (CDT)
- Took ten hits of divine favours at 661 damage each, with radio at 10. --Bagatelle 20:12, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
I killed him after 6 hits of 1k damage. Counting familiar and other damages, it was 6,700 damage in total. --Karoly1 10:14, 27 June 2008 (CDT)
Your Detective Skull says "I deduce that this monster has approximately 6764 hit points." Next reading was 6303 after doing 38 damage. Next reading, after doing 1074 damage was 5449 from skull and 5730 from helmet. So it sounds like he had 6500 at the start. --Zeviz 02:15, 29 June 2008 (CDT)
When I took him down, he was alive after 6501 damage, but dead next round with 7107. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 15:11, 7 July 2008 (CDT)
Level 20 DB, he had 6,323-7,120 HP. No ML modifiers. Also, my weapon damage was consistently 776-778 over 9 rounds (which might have been right about half my buffed Muscle, come to look at it), so there seems to have been a Damage Cap in effect there. --Nahtmmm 12:09, 14 July 2008 (CDT)
Damage Absorption
Looks like he's got DA too. With 921 (327) Muscle, I was doing ~560 per Vicious Talon Slash (expected lower bound 690), and am doing ~700 on normal hobos. Anybody think this might be a reference in any way to the movie The Sandlot? Between there being a million titles for Oscus (Think the scene where they continually named Babe Ruth. The sultan of swat the great bambino... etc.) Also, the fail message where it says he throws like a girl?
