| The question of showing the secret words has been a highly debated one for awhile. Many solutions have been proposed such as a separate page entitled Secret Words, and various other ideas. The feeling that at least this one secret should be unspoilered has remained prevalent in many peoples' minds, but it was never decided once and for all whether or not to include them in the wiki. Since I enjoy democracy so much I figure it is time for another vote. If for some reason a category does not fit your opinion feel free to create one for yourself. --SomeStranger (Talk | Contribs) 14:31, 16 April 2006 (CDT)
| | I have removed the "vote" from this page (it was not going anywhere). I honestly disagree with not allowing cleverly placed hints on the page (I even made a clever limerick), but alas! Nevertheless for those needy people who desperately wants to know the secret words I suggest you browse the page history of the main article of this talk page. --SomeStranger (Talk | Contribs) 17:37, 16 May 2006 (CDT) |

| ===The Secret Words should not be in the wiki===
| |
| This is an issue that has been hashed and rehashed. The bottom line is that we won't spoil it here on the Wiki. --Gymnosophist 14:44, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

| |
| * since pretty much everything here is copyright mr johnson, we rely on his goodwill. he asked us not to spoil this one thing. we have to respect that. --Evilkolbot 14:53, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

| |
| ** So basically, all the old players get to know the secret and pass it around amongst themselves, and keep it from the newer players? Is that not anything different than what you 2 are suggesting? Quit being so selfish. You older players have gotten enough rewards already, the old mr. store items, Tiny plastic swords, time set, etc. --Veszerin 17:20, 16 May 2006 (CDT)

| ===The Secret Words should be in the wiki===
| |
| *Support - the Wiki spoils every single adventure, secret, and quest in all of the Kingdom of Loathing, I don't think that these words should be any different. Naturally they should be placed only in the Walkthrough, as opposed to the main quest description. --SomeStranger (Talk | Contribs) 14:31, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

|
| |
| *I don't understand why they shouldn't. What makes these words so different to everything else we spoil here? I want an answer.--Someone Else 07:07, 17 April 2006 (CDT)

|
| |
| *Why the heck aren't they on here anyways? This site spoils everything else, so basically only the players that have been around longest get to know the secret? With all due respect to Jick, he doesn't run this wiki, this is an independent help site, he shouldn't really have a say in what we can and can't have on it. Is he going to go around to every KoL guide site and tell the owner they can't have it there?--Veszerin 13:55, 11 May 2006 (CDT)

| ===There Should Be Hints to the Secret Words in the Wiki===
| |
| Another possible opition here is that of a sort of compromise; give hints as to what the secret words are and suggestions how one might go about reasoning out which goes with which mantle item. We maintain accordance with the wishes of Jick while still remaining the source of all knowledge kol-related.
| |
| Besides, I found a spoiler site for kol that lists all the words and associated mantle items with a quick google search, so it's not like the information isn't out there.--Yiab 15:17, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

| *Ok, let's try this out. I will try to make some haikus and see how they turn out. --SomeStranger (Talk | Contribs) 15:19, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

| **Here is my first shot at a limerick for one of the words, I think it is pretty decent. --SomeStranger (Talk | Contribs) 16:16, 16 April 2006 (CDT)
| |
|
| |
| I removed the limerick. It was my understanding that there wan't going to be any spoiling (including hints) of these words anywhere. The problem with providing hints is that someone won't get it and then somebody else will make an easier hint. And then somebody won't get that hint so somebody will make an easier hint. Eventually this will lead to spoiling.--Williabr 17:33, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

|
| |
| That's called "Slippery Slope", its a false arguement. However, since the arguement applies to making simplier and simplier hints, and you seem opposed to *any* sort of help in regards to the words, I'm not sure that's relevant.--Rikmach 23:57, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

| And now for something completely different: When I did the quest, instead of saying "The one on the right is foaming and thick," the description said "The one on the right is thick and thick." Odd. --DementiaIncarnate 17:39, 8 May 2006 (CDT) | | And now for something completely different: When I did the quest, instead of saying "The one on the right is foaming and thick," the description said "The one on the right is thick and thick."
