During a Zombie Slayer Ascension, only undead (or undead-ish) familiars are available. The rest are temporarily deceased: they are listed in gray in the Terrarium, each next to its own grave marker. Trying to switch to one of the departed (such as by using the /familiar chat command) yields the message:
- "That familiar seems to be dead."
This restriction and error message also apply when using the Crown of Thrones.
The Hovering Skull familiar hatchling (talkative skull) can only be obtained while already on the Zombie Slayer path.

Undead familiars delevel 25% at the start of combat when dressed as The Captain using the Mumming trunk.
