RE: Missing: Pioneer Daughter

You hogtie one of the Bloodmilk Cave cow cultists and interrogate him about Daisy. He doesn't speak, but at the mention of her name the anger in his eyes turns into something very similar to fear.

The air heats up as the cultist's panic intensifies. The ropes binding him begin to smolder, then burst into flames and are gone. You can tell he wants to flee, but you're between him and the exit.

RE: Haunted Boneyard

You can't understand why anyone would want to be a cultist for the weird and terrible demons that've taken over all the cows, but you guess it's basically like sexual fetishes -- no matter what it is, there's somebody who's into that.

RE: Sheriff Wanted

As you're traveling up the river toward the Place Lake Gang's hideout, you see smoke from a campfire a ways up from the bank. You go to investigate, and it turns out to be the smoke from a ritual sacrifice pyre being tended to by a cow cultist. Just as you realize your mistake, the cultist also realizes your mistake, and hurls himself at you, shrieking.

RE: Missing: Many Children

You hear a strange whispering coming from the open door of one of the gray, ramshackle buildings in this bleak, foggy village. You poke your head inside, and accidentally interrupt a cow cultist in the middle of some sort of weird butter ritual.

Hit Message(s):

He chants some horrible unwords, and your blood starts to hurt. Ugh! Ugh! Ow! Eek!

He just hauls off and punches you in the face. Not very mystical, but effective. Ow! Eek! Oof! Eek!

He stabs you with one of those twisty knives that cultists like so much. So much that I mention it every time there's a cultist. Ow! Ugh! Eek! Ouch!

Critical Hit Message:

He summons the wrath of his masters down upon you. Your head fills with horrible, brain-mangling mooing. (CRITICAL HIT!) Eek! Ugh! Eek! Ugh!

Miss Message(s):

He chants some nonsense at you, and gets mad when nothing happens.

He shouts some prayers to his gods. Presumably asking them to come beat you up for him.

He tries to stab you but misses, and has to pray to his gods for forgiveness.

Fumble Message:

He rants about how his dark lords will destroy you. Eventually. When they get here. (FUMBLE!)

After Combat
You acquire an item: tainted milk (% chance)*

Occurs at Investigating a Plaintive Telegram.

Notes

  • Vile cow cultists greatly reduce elemental damage (by ~80% or so?) and reprehensible cow cultists are immune to elemental damage (reduce damage to 1).
