Notes

References

  • Freeze-dried "astronaut ice-cream" is often sold in science museum gift shops.
  • "Neither man nor astro-man" is a reference to the surf-rock band Man or Astro-man?.
  • "In space, no one can hear you scream for this." is a mix of the tag line from Aliens, "In space no one can hear you scream" and "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream", a line from an old song, famously quoted in the Jim Jarmusch movie Down By Law.
  • May also be a reference to Neil Gaiman's The Sandman comics character Delirium. In Brief Lives, she asks, "Have you ever spent days and days making up flavors of ice cream that no one's ever eaten before? Like chicken and telephone ice cream?"
  • The autosell price is 42, a likely reference to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
