This is a man struck with a horrible, dreadful affliction -- when the moons are full, he takes on the savage and bloodthirsty form of a turtle.
Although, come to think of it, you've seen it when the moons weren't full, and it looked pretty much exactly the same.
In fact... uh... yeah. This is probably just a turtle.
