Best Served Cold (adventure)
This is about the Outskirts of Camp Logging Camp adventure. There is a similarly-named Avatar of Jarlsberg Best Served Cold.
As you round a bend in the forest trail, you see a lumberjack sprawled out face down in front of you, in a spreading puddle of a red liquid you're reasonably sure isn't strawberry jam.
At the lumberjack's head, you see a crowd of forest spirits. One of them looks up and hastily tries to hide an axe handle behind his back. Then he and the other spirits offer up their tears. Clearly, you're being bribed.
"Well," you reason, "can't say they didn't have it coming." You pocket the bribes and go whistling along your merry way.
Your ten-leaf clover vanishes in a puff of smoke.
