Exposition
You follow the map to a part of the Nearby Plains you hadn't noticed before, and survey the landscape.
You see a beautifully-groomed lawn -- it's so idyllic, like a sailor's dream, or a college student's desktop background. You smile and relax as you gaze upon the neatly spaced rows of fresh-mown grass.
But then you catch some movement out of the corner of your eye that spoils the idyllicness. Idyllicity. Idyllatry.
It's gnomes. Lawn gnomes. Hordes of them. How can this be? You thought they were extinct! Yet here are hundreds of them, working diligently to maintain this lawn.
You creep in for a closer look. Pointy red hats, curly white beards, malevolent beady eyes -- definitely lawn gnomes. You shudder with revulsion.
Something about this doesn't add up. In a state of nature, lawn gnomes are solitary predators. There's no way this many of them would be working together without some greater threat pulling the strings.
You vow to find out what's going on and put a stop to it.
Occurs at The Landscaper's Lair.
