Flee to me, remote elf!
Flee to me, remote elf!

You are be-bopping along in the Palindome when you spy, far off in the distance, an elf being beset. Beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

Er, actually, she's just being attacked by a couple of Taco Cats. You throw the Cats a sound beating and rescue the elf.

"How can I ever repay you?" she asks. "I guess I can give you this ticket to our Elf Farm Raffle..."

You acquire an item: Elf Farm Raffle ticket

Occurs at The Palindome. This adventure seems to occur only if you have no Elf Farm Raffle ticket in your inventory.

References

  • The encounter text refers to a quote from Pulp Fiction: "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men..." It is described as a quote from the Bible in the movie, but it isn't.
  • The illustration bears a remarkable resemblance to Vaarsuvius, an elf wizard from the webcomic The Order of The Stick. A running gag in the comic, however, is that no one knows whether Vaarsuvius is male or female.
  • The name "Flee to me, remote elf! is yet another palindrome.
  • Another note: Flee to me, remote elf! is the answer to a question (about palindromes) in "The Puzzling Puzzles: Bothersome Games Which Will Bother Some People", a book by Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket).
