Grimace
From A KoL Wiki
Grimace is one of the two moons over the Kingdom of Loathing. Grimace completes its revolution once every two KoL months.
The LAAAAME Observatory
You used to be able to watch Grimace from The LAAAAME Observatory:
- One of the astronomers nods, smiling. "I see you've found Grimace, one of our two moons. Due to its influence on magical energy, ancient scholars called it Magicus Gluteus, or 'The Wizard's Moon'. They also predicted that some sort of terrible catastrophe would befall it..." He turns to look at a calendar. "Well, any day now, actually. But naturally that's a load of rubbish. What could possibly happen?"
And this is what Grimace looks like:

Notes
- Grimace was first observed by Antipode (#306464) on May 15, 2006 1:35 AM.
- Upon being hit by The Comet, Grimace appears now to have a piece of itself orbiting it. However, observations of the "minimoon" are hampered thanks to said comet having hit The LAAAAME Observatory leaving only The Remains of A Comet and an Observatory, making it impossible to observe Grimace. Another chunk of the comet hit Hagnk's Ancestral Mini-Storage, which was Hagnk's Mostly-Burned-Down-then-Hit-By-a-Chunk-of-a-Comet-then-Flooded-by-the-Melting-Comet Ancestral Mini-Storage, while a chunk of Grimace came down on Desert Beach and formed The Grim Grimacite Site. Ironically, Hagnk's has been rebuilt using blocks of grimacite, as of September 19, 2007.

- The moons, Ronald and Grimace, share the same names as Ronald McDonald and Grimace, two of the mascots of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain.
- Gluteus is part of the Latin name for one of the muscles in the buttock, Gluteus Maximus. "To moon" as a verb is to take down one's trousers and expose the buttocks, appropriately enough.
- The astronomer in the observatory speaks of Grimace's "influence on magical energy". When Grimace is full however, HP gains, not MP gains, are doubled (see also: Stat Days).
