Notes

  • If Misterioso (Mis-te-rio-so) is pronounced without the diphthong (i.e. Mis-te-ri-o-so), the third line of the haiku has one too many syllables.
  • The best known approximation of the formula for the hovering sombrero's stat gain is Floor (Sqrt (monster level) * sombrero weight * 3 / 100).
  • Sombrero vs Volleyball contains information about when Sombreros and Volleyball-type familiars are best for stat gains based on familiar weights and monster level. Incidentally, a Hovering Sombrero will beat a Volleyball of the same weight at monster level 70.
  • For almost all practical situations, tiny maracas give better stat gain than annoying pitchfork, but see annoying pitchfork for details.
  • Before South of the Border was implemented, the Hovering Sombrero was Jick's seldomly seen personal familiar.
