- The word "Mandarin" can mean either a Chinese bureaucrat or a Mandarin orange, a fruit very similar to a tangerine.
- "Mandahugginkiss" (more often "Amanda Hugginkiss") is a prank name, like "Pat McCrotch." It is probably referencing an early Simpsons episode, one of Bart's famous pranks on Moe.
- "Mandarina colada" is a play on the well-known tropical drink, the Piña Colada.
