Effect

Applies a 75% rejection rate to all monsters in the area which do not have the same name as the one you are trailing, in addition to the normal Adventure Queue effect. Normal Adventure Queue rejection does not occur on the Olfacted monster.

The "N / monster" column is either the name of the unevenly distributed monster, or the number of evenly distributed monsters in the Zone. For example, N=5 can refer to The Black Forest or Lair of the Ninja Snowmen. The Trailed Rate refers only to the chance that a combat encounter will be the given monster, since different areas with the same number of monsters can have different combat rates, and On The Trail does not affect Combat Frequency.

Notes

  • In the effect description, <monstername> is the name of the monster being tracked.
  • Does not have any effect on Combat Frequency.
  • You can not get rid of the trailed monster using a divine champagne popper, Creepy Grin or Harold's bell, since these are assumed to set the rejection rate of the monster to 100%, but that rejection rate is never checked when the monster is being trailed.
  • This effect works across different areas. If you olfact a drunken half-orc hobo from the choice adventure in the Haunted Pantry, and then go to the Sleazy Back Alley, the drunken half-orc hobo will show up as expected with Olfaction's effect manipulating how things occur.
  • If you have olfacted a monster, and go to an area where that monster doesn't show up, this skill has no discernible effect, though it is still assumed to be doing the 75% rejection on anything that isn't named the same as what you are trailing.
