• The line "Mmm... curds" was said by Michael Stipe of R.E.M. in an episode of The Simpsons. The line itself is a play on the common "Mmm"s by Homer Simpson, such as "Mmm... donuts" and "Mmm... beer".
• Also, this refers to the Super Troopers movie where the officers pull over the druggies and ask were they're going. They reply: "We're just heading up to Canada to eat some cheese and gravy on fries." (This also refers to the location.), one of the officers says to the other "Poutine." the name of the dish.
