reverse-oscillating klystron
This is a vacuum tube designed to amplify wave and microwave signals, consisting of a "buncher" at one end and a "catcher" at the other. Yeah, keep the jokes to yourself. It's differentiated from a normal oscillating klystron in that it oscillates backwards. Science!

- The cry "Science!" at the end of the description is from the TV series "Bill Nye the Science Guy" where host Bill Nye often ended his explanations with the exclamation "Science!" The cry also appears multiple times in the song "She Blinded Me With Science" by Thomas Dolby.
