- According to a UK Swearing Dictionary, Roger's Profanisaurus, the chocolate starfish is a noun meaning "Rusty sheriff's badge (qv); Bovril bullet hole."
- Chocolate starfish may also be a reference to the Limp Bizkit album of 2000, Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.
