This old book, bound in what the last chapter will undoubtedly reveal to be human skin, is heavy both with ominous foreboding and with weight.

When Used
The left page holds a list of all unlocked tales, the right page holds the tale text. This text is overlaid on top of the image, something that the wiki does not support. When a tale is unselected the right page says:
Click a story title to the left to read a Tale of Dread.
Unlock more Tales of Dread by defeating monsters in Dreadsylvania!
Notes
- Fighting monsters in Dreadsylvania will add new stories to the book with a message:
You hear the scratching sounds of a quill pen from inside your sack. A new Tale of Dread has written itself in your scary storybook!
- There are 30 stories altogether. Collecting all of them unlocks the Horror Enthusiast trophy.
- There has been a specific request from TPTB not to spoil the stories on the wiki (or the forums).

- The suggestion that the book is bound in human skin is a reference to the Necronomicon, a fictional book from the Cthulhu mythos which was supposedly bound in human skin.
