Crystalline Race Scenario

You approach <Officer name> who is messing with a tricorder. "Greetings Sub- Chief, what assistance may I offer?," he asks.

"Can I have that tricorder?"

"Sure, just be careful with it, it's a delicate instrument," <Officer name> tells you.

You can't figure out how to carry two things, so you put down what you're holding.

"What can you tell me about the hostiles?"

"Well, First Sergeant, based on the emissions of their ship, I've determined that they are of the Jaden race."

<Officer name> explains, "It would appear that these Jadens maintain their consciousness in a crystalline matrix and move around utilizing an ingenious anti-gravity resonance. The resonance creates an aura of sound around the creatures but slightly out of phase to our hearing."
