Someone on the forums mentioned a Dr. McNinja reference. Anyone get it?--LoopyChew 02:16, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
The "How Rude" part, can it be someone else than our beloved Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars? --Ferdawoon 05:10, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
- "Ay Caramba" is more likely a reference to Bart Simpson, renowned troublemaker and popularizer of the phrase. "How Rude" is likely not related to Jar-Jar in any way. It could just as easily be C-3PO, the Olsen Twins, or no one at all. --Gothhenge 06:07, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
- the problem with this is that "ay caramba" probably is a reference to young bart, even in the web comic. no-one is immune to the power of the yellow. it still remains a perfectly valid spanish exclamation, which has to give some leeway. even though the reference is nested, it's so obviously the web comic that it has to stay, and any reference mentioning the simpsons gets excised ruthlessly. oh yes. and, jar jar, don't even go there. --Evilkolbot 06:23, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
- What... --Snickles 16:42, 14 June 2006 (CDT)
- ok, so not my most coherent post ever. i think my points were:
- although this is a nested reference, the outermost reference (the web comic) should stay, and the next one in (the simpsons) should be taken out if added.
- any references to jar jar binks should be removed immediately everywhere even if only implied.
- clearer? --Evilkolbot 06:51, 15 June 2006 (CDT)
- First off, I'm not familiar with the comic. Generally, when a reference could be seen as "nested," the initial reference (The Simpsons) is assumed to be the correct one. Again, I'm not familiar with the comic, and there may be some nuance in the description that implicates the comic rather than The Simpsons, in which case the current reference is valid. However, I agree on the second point; I'm not sure that "How rude" is distinct enough to be considered a reference to anything. I'm not going to make changes on either issue; just voicing my opinion. --Snickles 17:25, 15 June 2006 (CDT)
- Well, the comic page linked to features a brick (with attached note) crashing through someone's window, that person yelling "Ay carumba!", and that "Ay carumba!" being unnecessarily translated as "interjection denoting surprise," so I'd say it's a fairly solid reference. Also, I think Riff confirmed it on last night's radio show. --Hogulus 13:17, 16 June 2006 (CDT)
- since the case is closed, i'll continue to remove simpsons references until asked not to. --Evilkolbot 12:28, 30 June 2006 (CDT)
needs more text
i have no bricks left and am in ronin, so cannot test this. when trying to type a very tall message (using the 500 character limit to type the same word repeatedly once per line, for example), you're presented with a 'no, you can't do that' message. i didnt note down what this message was, and dont know the criteria for it being displayed. something about that message not being able to fit on a brick. trading bricks
Is it just me, or is it now impossible to trade bricks via kmail or gift packages? (I know that bricks have never been tradable through regular game trade.) --Club (#66669) (Talk) 15:55, 13 November 2007 (CST)
- "Now"? It's always been impossible to trade bricks - all you can do is throw them, with an optional message attached. --Quietust (t|c) 16:37, 13 November 2007 (CST)
- Hence the "Cannot be Traded" tag.--Ac1983fan 17:14, 13 November 2007 (CST)
- Just me then. I really thought that I had sold some bricks before, without having to brick someone. I guess I remembered wrongly. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 19:24, 14 November 2007 (CST)
Wait, there's a note attched.
Couldn't this also be a Home Alone 2 reference, when the protagonist throws a brick through the window of the toy shop to activate the alarm and attaches a note explaining to the owner why he tossed the brick? --Nerdboy32121 21:06, 16 November 2007 (CST)
- Coincidence, if anything - it was clearly intended to be a Dr. McNinja reference, what with the "interjection denoting surprise" (and that brick also had an attached message). --Quietust (t|c) 21:42, 16 November 2007 (CST)
Notes
The 'notes' section doesn't mention how i can be obtained from Trick or Treating as a Terrifying Clown (now that it is an outfit). --Jzp 11:54, 13 January 2008 (CST)
- And you can't add it because...? --Bagatelle 11:58, 13 January 2008 (CST)
