Talk:Chalky Hand
I believe Chalky Hand also increases the chances of the "Minnesota Incorporeals" - pseudoinsanity.
- I'm not so sure. It took me 4 uses of the chalk before I could get the adventure with it on my first char. On the second I tried I got the pool cue as my very first Billiards adventure, then "Minnesota Incorporeals" 4 times in a row. After that I popped a series of chalky wraiths and did not get "Minnesota Incorporeals" again for at least 7 turns. So in my (admittedly limited) experience it doesn't seem to have much of an effect. --- rholliday 00:30, 22 September 2006 (CDT)
Another Affect From This?
The description suggests +item drops. Could we test for this? --Someone Else 02:06, 23 September 2006 (CDT)
- Seems to me like it would be a "never fumble" effect, if anything. --MaxVance 15:34, 23 September 2006 (CDT)
- I think MaxVance is onto something--I just spent 90 turns with chalky hands and didn't get a single fumble. Just before that, I got one, so I know I wasn't wearing anything that prevents fumbles, nor were there any other effects active on me. --Boba Feta 18:44, 26 September 2006 (CDT)
- Yes, I can confirm it to be a never fumble effect. I spent 200+ adventures with Chalky Hand and didn't fumble once. Then I promptly fumbled after it ran out. --MaxVance 11:30, 30 September 2006 (CDT)
I fumbled with this effect on
Just once. Unfortunately, I wasn't tracking the other effects on me, but I think once is enough to consider the 'Never Fumble' in dispute.

- Same here. I was fighting Dr Awkward at the time, but I think its worth mentioning. Perhaps its just a reduced fumble chance? --Eugene 16:34, 9 August 2007 (CDT)
- Since it is known that you can fumble against Dr. Awkward even with "never fumble" equipment on, the above counterexamples are probably ignorable. --Hellion 18:21, 21 April 2008 (CDT)
- Lxndr's data point was prior to NS13, so "never fumble" is still a little questionable, given there is at least one mechanice--EoS--purported to reduce fumbles. (Or is there another monster that forces fumbles?) It'd be nice if someone without Eye would run a couple hundred rounds to confirm. Although at this point it might be just some weird conditionals evaluated out-of-order in the fight code. --Bagatelle 19:33, 21 April 2008 (CDT)
- Do fumble increasers stack? If so, then the best thing would be to equip 2 cyborg knives and a humorous t-shirt. And not have eye-of-the-stoat. Best I could do with one of my characters is 2 knives without eye of the stoat, but since I'm about to complete my fastest run ever (which still isn't all that impressive; should get on a class-specific board for it, but not an overall board), I'm disinclined to try it out once I free the king. In other news, your fumble chance would have to be 1/88 or less to have about a 50% chance or better of observing no fumbles in 140 rounds. According to Fumble Chance, the base chance is 1/22, or 1/44 with eye. --Flargen 19:53, 21 April 2008 (CDT)
- Starwed ran some data tentatively concluding that +fumbles didn't stack. Then again, there was a recent update on combat crits, so that could've changed things up as well... --Bagatelle 21:44, 21 April 2008 (CDT)
- Huh. How'd I miss that in the talk page? --Flargen 22:21, 21 April 2008 (CDT)

- 140 total rounds with Eye of the Stoat + this effect + a vibrating cyborg knife (3x fumble) in the stone-aged hippies. No fumbles observed at all. Took 14 rounds with the effect off to observe a fumble. --Bagatelle 17:46, 21 April 2008 (CDT)

Seems to also increase unarmed damage.
I've just spent some time attacking without a weapon with Chalky Hand on and each attack did 4 damage instead of usual 1. I'll test it out more later, but the difference looked pretty obvious. (Damage returned to 1 when the effect wore off.) EDIT: This was confirmed by several more people, so I am adding it to main article. --Zeviz 00:34, 28 May 2007 (CDT)
I'm not really a fan of posting information without any spading, so... In the beanbat chamber, no equipment, no relevant effects, ignoring critical hits. Then, same method, but with a pasta spoon.

I did them in the order of chalk-free/unarmed, chalky/unarmed, chalky/armed, chalk-free/armed. I gained a muscle point at the end of chalky/armed, which would account for chalk-free/armed being slightly higher than expected.
So, +3 melee. --TechSmurf 13:35, 28 May 2007 (CDT)
