Should clan names beginning with "The" get alphabetized with the T's or with the first letter of the second word in their name? If this were a library, we'd go with the second word... But it's not. What would work better for those folks who are looking for clan information? --jin 23:47, 10 May 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Count "The", Hmmmmmmm

I really dont know but its a real good thought!

Category

These well-known clans are still in the clan category and some aren't listed in teh clan directory:

  • Iocaine Powder
  • Jicken Wings
  • The Ninjapiratezombierobot clan
  • Noblesse Oblige
  • Otori
  • The Rye

Should they be uncategorized and all be in the directory?--Dehstil 19:52, 24 May 2006 (CDT)

  • I do not belive there is anything that people have put in a in wiki page that isn't better suited on its own website somewhere else. I've gone throuhg and replaced nearly all of the links to clan pages (that are linked to enough to show up on 'wanted pages') with links to their web pages. I think someone whined to Jinya about all of them being removed. All links to the pages (as of a few weeks ago) are now to their respective website, except for The Rye because it seems their site is blank and Jicken Wings becuase they don't have one. And they should be all in the Clan Directory, except for the 2 previously mentioned. Template:Clan was altered to avoid interwikilinking to clan pages and encourage external linking to them. Most clan pages were just membership rosters anyway and all had more page edits than they did page views. --JRSiebz (|§|) 20:23, 24 May 2006 (CDT)
    • I'm still unclear on what constitutes a "special clan" ..? --LucySpace 21:15, 6 June 2006 (CDT)
      • Here is a nice easy referenceable list.
  1. They have a custom item named after them (Warhouse 23 bling, N.O. Beer)
  2. The clan owner owns this wiki.
  3. The clan owner hosts this wiki.
So there you have it =).--SomeStranger (T | C) 18:26, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Special Clans

I was wondering...Why exactly these 6 clans get their own clan page, and no one else is allowed to have a clan page of their own on the wiki, let alone listed on the clans page as a 'Special clan.' Can someone please explain this to me? I just want to know, because my clan's page was deleted after hours of work was put into it. And if some clans are going to be granted permission to have pages, while others won't, At least make them nice and properly formatted. The Rye for example, has NO formatting at all. I'm sorry to these 6 clans, but I am just insulted. Now come on, Either all clans are allowed to have a small clan page, or get rid of these 6.--Veszerin 18:07, 7 June 2006 (CDT)

Just Because

  • Those 6 clans were restored for various reasons. NPZR, Otori, W23, and NO have in-game items named after them, and thus were deemed "important" clans. The Rye, Jicken Wings, and Iocaine Powder are big-name clans who had significant content in their pages before deletion. There were a few other big-name clans I attempted to restore, who had nothing of significance in their page. JRSiebz would prefer that ALL clan pages, including these, were *poof*. I don't particularly care about clan and user/player pages much at all, and don't mind seeing a few. However, even just a few seems to make everyone else think they are also important enough for one. The player page issue has been mostly resolved by moving them to the user pages in cases where they exist. With clans, it comes down to what makes a clan important. An in-game item signifies that even if the clan ceases to exist, they will "go down in history", thus they're deemed important. The other three clan's pages could probably go *poof*, but I wanted to restore Jicken Wings's page, as they're my clan, and we haven't gotten to making our own site anywhere (but it's in the works)... IP and Rye are clan names that are recognized by many players. Whereas, "Joe's Slummy Clan of Creeps" isn't recognized by anyone but Joe and his multis. --jin 19:31, 7 June 2006 (CDT)
