Talk:Feather Boa Constrictor
What are the meat drops and damage dealt formulae? I assume damage increases with lbs, does meat stolen also increase with lbs, and at what rate do these increase, and is there a cap? --AtroPhied 17:16, 23 July 2007 (CDT)
- If it says it does something like a Cocoabo, you use the Cocoabo formula. --InvalidUser 17:28, 23 July 2007 (CDT)
Meat Drops
A Cocoabo drops (3x+3) to (5x+15) meat. Since I can't afford the snake, I can only post results based on the occasional Doppelshifter combat and Comma Chameleon experience.
- At weight 9, I've got a range of meat of 41 to 72, averaging 53.
- At weight 18, I've got a range of meat from 77 to 122, with an average of 101.
What's really needed is for someone to post some low-level weights. The easiest way to do this is to use a turtle totem or spices and attack a high level monster (one that won't hit you, but won't die from a 1-pound boa attacking it over 30 rounds). let the combat time out at 30 rounds and the familiar won't gain weight. I'll continue to work through the Comma Chameleon, but I could use some additional help spading this.--Foggy 16:52, 30 April 2008 (CDT)
Got a high of 72 with a 9-pound Boa (cham)...I suspect the formula will be similar to the Cocoabo after all. Namely:
- (3+1d3) * (weight + 1d3)
This gives a range of 4x+4 to 6x+18. At 9 pounds, the range is 40 to 72, and 18, 76 to 126.

Hmmm I've have an actual Boa and alot of the Numbers I've seen seem low for meat theft. SO I'm gonna use it and post it's level, what I was fighting, and meat drop. So expect to see some data soon. --Neotemplar 14:32, 1 August 2008 (CDT)
Meat drop - round change
It seems some time between March 30th and April 6th (can't pin down an exact date), behaviour was changed in line with the other familiars so that the boa no longer drops meat after round 10. --Lizardking 14:14, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'd guess it happened silently when other familiar fixes were added on March 31st. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:30, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
