You need to use this while you have Down the Rabbit Hole active - otherwise you get "This is a map of stuff in the Rabbit Hole, and you don't know where the Rabbit Hole is right now." It looks as if you can only get one at a time, or maybe one per dive? I got one from my first encounter in The Red Queen's Garden (a Beelephant), didn't use it and didn't get another despite well-boosted item drops. --Kareth 11:55, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

    • Further testing confirms that you can use the "Drink Me" potions just for the Mad Tea Party buff during a run, and then at the end go in with a nice high +item% and get several maps from a single potion. --Sparksol (t|c) 05:41, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
      • That's not actually what's happening. It's a guaranteed drop of 1 map per potion used. So if you use potions just for the buffs and then later use one to collect maps, you'll get a map for every potion you've used. I'd guess it would reset at ascension, but I can't confirm that. --iniquitous
      • multi-using the potions for a few days, at about 10/use. I have noticed, after I get 5 to drop in one day, no more will drop until after rollover, regardless of how many I drink. And I am running a very large +item drop, so... Anyone else confirm or deny this? --KhayPrower 02:11, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

The counter seems to reset on ascension. I was owed three or four maps from my last run, but only got one after 20 adv in the garden in my current run. I'm not sure enough yet to put in the page, though. --Club (#66669) (Talk) 17:32, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Drop mechanism changed?

I know that you're only supposed to get one of these per "DRINK ME" potion consumed, but I just used my first "DRINK ME" ever on a character, adventured until I got a map, used it, then went to use up the rest of my adventures of Down the Rabbit Hole and got a second one. I've never ascended with this character and I only drank one potion. Thought maybe I was going crazy, but I just checked my inventory to be sure: on a character that's never ascended, I have a Lobster qua Grill and a reflection of a map.
