Talk:The Dark and Dank and Sinister Cave/Pre-2015
I'm taking out the redirect, since the new content is officially announced and out...so I'm guessing its time to bring this page back to life.
I haven't seen anything about the new content on here yet ...so here's what I've seen so far. I'm on a oxy hardcore seal clubber ascension (just in case any of that ends up mattering with the new content--I think class type at least might, since the graphic in the 2nd room is called mus_door2). I didn't think to grab anything from the first page, but it was an angry guy with a "gross" half a bull head on his head. I figured it looked/sounded like a viking helm...and sure enough, when I put that in the hole it opened the door. The next one has me stumped so far. Here is the room description: { You approach another large stone slab blocking the hall. This one is engraved with the image of a small bag, with little round things pouring out of it onto a flat circular thing. Below that is a carving of a plain oblong shape, which is beset on the left and right sides by what looks like two magical explosions flying in and, er, exploding on it. You're really not sure what's going on there. Probably it's something the artist couldn't figure out how to draw, so he went allegorical.
The image below that is much clearer, though: it depicts a man covered with flames, screaming in agony and shooting fire out of his mouth.
You find another hole in the wall, similar to the previous one, but smaller -- maybe three inches across. }
With another spot to put something. First (failed) attempt, I got a message { You attempt to put your spices in the hole, but the magical barrier prevents you. Or, possibly, the hole is too small. Since we're not going to implement a "small enough to go in the second hole in the Nemesis cave" entry in the item table, you'll have to decide for yourself which it is. }
After another failed attempt, got a bit more after that: { Grumbling, you riffle through your pack, unable to find anything that looks similar to what the engravings seem to be implying. It's possible you simply don't have whatever the door is looking for. Also, it occurs to you that the engravings may be indicating steps, like some sort of recipe... }
I'm guessing this makes it a crafted item, and possibly one I don't have in inventory. Gonna keep working on it and checking here for updates. Hope this helps you all get the wiki updated as soon as possible. :)
I'm honestly new to this whole process (wiki and spading both), so if anyone has any words of advice for the future, I'm open to all helpful advice.
Also...I did save the graphic from the 2nd room...just not sure what to do with it now.

Level 30 Disco Bandit.
Three puzzle doors: First was a hand with flies and waves coming off - obviously Dirty Hobo Gloves. Second was the one Baltham describes, which is obviously the insanely spicy jumping bean burrito. Third was a bottle, some fruits and advanced cocktail parts which was a random (needs to be spaded) Extra Fruity Girly Drink. The large room has random encounters that drop slips of paper with parts of the password to the Big Door at the end. --- Waveclaw 02:18, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
I had the viking helmet one, and the one Baltham mentioned, which I solved with an insanely spicey bean burrito (not a jumping one, notice!) the third was a snake with a clown's head, and people bouncing off of it. I got past it with a clownskin whip. Going through as a Seal Clubber, haven't solved the password part yet. --Sparksol (t|c) 02:31, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Level 26 Seal Clubber here - was going to mention the same thing, that the second puzzle wouldn't accept an insanely spicy jumping bean burrito, but DID accept the insanely spicy bean burrito. Also got the same 3rd, which leads me to believe the third test will always be class-related (reagent cooking for Saucerors, noodle recipes for PMs, weapons for Seal Clubbers, armor for TTs, and drinks for DS - which makes me wonder what the AT gets). - As per below, looks like the AT needs an active buff. Makes sense. Also, based on the admittedly low sample size, it looks like everyone in a given class gets the same third test... Douglas Hossenfeffer 02:45, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Looks like the burritos needed for the 2nd door are stat related. regular insanely spicy (which is mus based) for mus classes, I.S. Jumping (which is moxie) for moxie, and I bet I.S. enchanted (mys) for mys based classes. Baltham 03:05, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

For a pastamancer the third door requires boring spaghetti.

I think the third door varies between classes. As for me, as an AT, I needed to have the Polka of Plenty Buff.--JohnAnon 02:27, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- As a Seal Clubber, I needed a Clown whip. ArsRampancy 02:28, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I'm out of turns, but here's what I'm seeing: First door requires a commonly available item from lower-lvl areas. Second door requires your major-stat type insanely spicy burrito. Third door requires something from your character-specific skill tree--super advanced meatsmithing for SC, polka of plenty buff for AT, advanced cocktailcrafting for DB, pastamancery for PM, I'm betting armorcraftiness for TT and a sauce effect for Sauceror.Baltham 03:11, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Anyone else get past the password door yet? I've found 8 different slips of paper, and put them in order based on the tears (look at the item description), but it didn't work. Was just wondering if I was missing a slip (and thus a word), missing a step (like having to convert the words into something else), or if there's a specific way they have to be presented (all caps, or broken up into groups of 6, or something). I think there are 9 total but the ninth is not implemented yet to keep us from continuing. remember this is just a teaser.--Bonez565 03:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
