You read the comic book -- it's issue #89 of Tales Of The Bewildering Ghost Orphan. It's the issue that started the big "Cornflower Thieves" plotline, where the hero is attacked by Crimson Kitten and then narrowly escapes by discovering a brand-new superpower, while challenging him to single combat, and winning.
