'Hello?
You find yourself alone backstage. How boring! Hmm. You do have this Othello board. Maybe you could find somebody back here to play with?
Find somebody to play Othello with |
First:
You set up your Othello board in the dressing room backstage, and refuse to leave until <someone> agrees to play a game.
or
You find <someone> backstage and follow him around until he agrees to play a game of Othello if you'll go away.
or
You set up your copy of Othello backstage and sit there giving passers-by the puppydog eyes until <someone> finally agrees to play.
or
You wander around backstage until you find <someone> willing to play a game of Othello with you.
or
You set up your Othello board in the dressing room backstage, and refuse to leave until <someone> agrees to play a game.
Then:
You win easily, and your opponent sighs and cuts off one of his fingers, which is the traditional penalty.
or
The game is barely more than half over when your opponent angrily flips the Othello board, demonstrating the poor sportsmanship that Shakespearian performers are famous for.
or
You play for a while, and after tallying the score, it's clear that you've beaten your opponent. Two stagehands rush up to stop him from performing Shakespearian ritual suicide.
or
You win the game, and your opponent ad-libs a sonnet about how much of a jerk you are.
or
You handily defeat your opponent, who storms away shouting obscure and antediluvian curses.
You've scored one point for your team in this era's Time Bandits vs. Time Lords contest!
Alternatively:
He destroys you in a dozen moves, then explains with a smirk that he was the state Othello champion three years running.
or
Your opponent wins the game, and flips the board in celebration. "In thy face!" he shouts.
or
Your opponent wins the game, and performs a strut-based victory dance.
or
He kicks your butt, and then literally kicks your butt, which is his right as victor.
