A Borg For All Seasons

The death ray decides to rethink its evil, death-raying ways, and gives you a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a peace offering.

Nah, just kidding. The death ray self-destructs, as per usual, and you flee deeper into the bowels of the increasingly, ghoulishly merry cyborg ship.

You walk down a holly-festooned corridor, sidestep the mistletoe growing out of the ceiling of every door jamb, and find a cyborg at one of the ship's upgrade stations. It unstraps its laser cannon, gingerly unplugs it from its skin, and sets to work replacing it with a spool full of brightly colored lights.

As it leaves the room, the cyborg turns, winks at you, and says "ho ho ho." Freaky, man. You grab the straps from the cyborg's laser cannon and go back the way you came.

You acquire an item: set of Unobtainium straps

As you exit, the entrance hatch seals shut behind you and the entire ship powers down. Looks like it's going into power-save mode for the night.

Occurred in A Sinister Dodecahedron.

Notes

  • The last paragraph occurred only on the fifth day of Crimbo (Bor 5).

References

  • The adventure name references either the play A Man for All Seasons, the 1966/88 movie adaptations of that play or, less likely, the theme song to the movie Johnny English, also called "A Man for All Seasons."
