You're fighting an acid blobThis is a creature that appears to be made of quivering, acidic goo. It leaves little etch-marks in the floor as it slides toward you, with the intent to leave big etch-marks in you.

References
- The attack messages "It etches you..." and "It tries to etch you...", each followed by "Sketchy", are a reference to the children's toy Etch-A-Sketch.
- As with everything else that occurs in the Dungeons of Doom, this is a reference to the computer game NetHack.
- "NO KILL I" is a reference to the Star Trek episode "The Devil in the Dark", in which a blob like alien called a Horta secretes acid to write the words "NO KILL I."
- It is also a reference to the fact that you can be protected from monster attacks in NetHack if you engrave the word "ELBERETH" on the ground where you're standing.
