His guidance counselor noticed his tendency towards sadistic pyromania and suggested that Manny should become a dentist. Fortunately, Manny's replacement guidance counselor suggested a career as a demolitions expert in Alice's Army, and Manny took to that calling like a fish to sushi.
While it's an admirable trait to have unbridled enthusiasm for your work, if that work involves high explosives, an even more admirable trait would be the interest in discerning friend from foe from self. Sadly, that trait is one that Manny does not possess. For better or for worse, he's just here for the big bada boom.
