This is a heavy barskin cloak, traditional garment of barbarian* chieftains everywhere... except Australia, where the bears are too small and cute for these purposes, and the barbarian chieftains wear hollowed-out emu carcasses instead.
* Ancient Loathingian for "he who bars** the bar".
** 'Bar' in this case referring to the club used to kill the animal with.
